Festival Women of Noise
Two nights, eighteen acts, one bill made entirely of women and non-binary artists working in noise. Free and 18+, at Stove Works in Chattanooga, 18-19 September 2026.

Eighteen acts across two nights at Stove Works in Chattanooga, on a bill built entirely from women and non-binary artists working in noise — a corrective to a scene that has spent most of its history looking like the opposite. Free to get in, 18+, with donations asked for on behalf of the artists travelling to play it.
Why a bill like this reads as a statement
Harsh noise and power electronics carry a documented gender problem. The founding generation was almost entirely male, and a good deal of the genre's early imagery treated women as subject matter rather than as artists. Anyone who has read this site's pieces on power electronics or The Rita has seen that history laid out.
A festival that fills two nights without reaching for that roster is worth noting, not because it is unusual for the artists — plenty have been working for years — but because the infrastructure to put eighteen of them on one bill mostly has not existed.
