Local tape label drops 20-artist compilation
Nine months in the making with no budget, this compilation pulls together twenty noise projects from seven cities.
A compilation titled Dead Channel drops this Friday through a tape label run out of a single room in Yogyakarta. Twenty tracks, all of it new material.
Where it comes from
Seven cities are represented. Yogyakarta still takes the largest share with six projects, followed by Bandung with four.
The tape format was not chosen out of nostalgia. It is cheap, you can dub it yourself, and it needs no middleman.
